Title
Upper Truckee River Restoration and Golf Course Reconfiguration Project
Description
Note: PAAEA-Preferred Alt 2B & Review Per Lead The proposed project would restore natural geomorphic and ecological processes along a 1.5-mile reach of the Upper Truckee River in the study area, which includes Lake Valley State Recreation Area and part of Washoe Meadows State Park. The project would reduce the river's discharge of suspended sediment to Lake Tahoe and reconfigure Lake Tahoe Golf Course. The river reach, currently 11,980 ft long, would be restored to 13,430 ft with additional floodplain area. Five golf course holes would be relocated to the river's west side, on less environmentally sensitive land farther from the river, while avoiding sensitive resources. The PAAEA document has been prepared in response to a California appellate court decision regarding the previous analysis for the Upper Truckee River Restoration and Golf Course Reconfiguration project.
