Title: Bajamont Groundwater Extraction and Treatment "L1" System Project
Description: The Proposed Project is a component of the existing groundwater containment and treatment program undertaken through a cooperative agreement between Aeroject and Carmichael Water District (CWD). Initiated in response to detection of NDMA groundwater contamination within the CWD, the proposed project is designed to arrest the down gradient spread of the contaminant plume, thereby protecting the downgradient quality of the aquifer, remediating the contaminated portions of the acquifer, and preventing additional impacts to public drinking water supply wells, including existing CWD wells. The proposed project is comprised of four primary components: a groundwater treatment plant, at least one groundwater extraction well, modifications to an existing reinforced concrete outfall, and underground pipelines.
