Title: Former Honey Lake Demolition Range: East Shore Area Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis -- Sierra Army Depot.
Description: The project consists of a surface and subsurface clearance ordinance and explosives related materials to a minimum depth of 12 inches below ground surface over an area of approximately 984 acres. Signs warning of the potential hazards associated with the site and land use controls are also included as part of the proposed remedy. Investigative activities are likely to uncover items that contain explosive residues. Items that are safe to move will be collected and stored in a temporary explosives storage magazine. At the end of the project all items that have been collected will be transported to an approved off-site treatment/disposal facility. Items that are deemed unsafe to move will be detonated in place.
