Description

The proposed project is located in a tidal lagoon near the confluence of San Luis Obispo Creek and Pacific Ocean (Township 31S, Range 12 E, APN 076-181-039). The existing Avila Flood Gate is a steel flap gate that prevents tidal water and high creek flows from back flowing into a storm drain outlet, is deteriorated and in need of replacement. The flood gate, which is installed on the downstream end of the storm drain outlet, is deteriorated and in need of replacement. The proposed project would replace the deteriorated flood gate with a new flood gate capable of operation without being blocked open by sand, silt, and debris.
