Description

CJR Partnership (Permittee) proposes to expand an existing mining claim which will encompass 120 acres. The project to be approved consists of a 120-acre sand and gravel mine that would operate for 50 years during which time approximately 350,000 to 500,000 tons of material will be extracted each year. The project will result in impacts to desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and Mohave ground squirrel (Spermophilus mohavensis), which are protected under the California Endangered Species Act, requiring issuance of a California Incidental Take Permit.
