California Tahoe Conservancy's Prescribed Burn Program at Carnelian Canyon
Description
The CA Tahoe Conservancy proposes to conduct a program of prescribed burns in its holdings within the 1,880 acre Carnelian Canyon Watershed of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Carnelian Creek flows from north to south across the project area, which comprises approximately 146 acres of forested land in Placer County, California. Elevation on the site ranges from 6,400 to 6,640 feet above sea level, and slopes range from 2 to 35 percent. The project area is bordered by residential developments on the southern and eastern site margins. Adjacent to the south and southeast is the Carnelian Woods Townhouse Complex property and immediately to the east is the Agate Bay Subdivision. Approximately one mile to the east of the eastern site boundary is the community of Tahoe Vista.
