San Fernando Valley East-West Transit Corridor

Description

The San Fernando Valley East-West Transit Corridor Project studied various alternatives. Of these alternatives, the Board adopted the San Fernando Valley East-West Full Bus Rapid Transit (Full BRT) Alternative, (now known as the "Orange Line") as the project. The Orange Line would generally consist of a 14-mile exclusive busway with 13 stations (space approximately 1 mile apart) as well as park-and-lots, kiss-and-ride areas, signal and intersection improvements, landscaping, bike racks and lockers, and improved local transit service. In addition, parallel bicycle and pedestrian paths will be constructed adjacent to the Orange Line.
