- The project is a Specific Plan Amendment to the Santa Fe Valley Specific Plan to allow a community entry guardhouse located at the northern entrance to The Lakes subdivision (Planning Area III). The amendment will revise figures and text to re-designate an existing neighborhood entry at the intersection of Old Course Road and Bing Crosby Boulevard to a community entry within the Specific Plan area. In accordance with the Specific Plan description of entries, it is necessary to amend the area as a "Community Entry", rather than a "Neighborhood Entry", because the later does not necessitate gated entrances. The site is subject to the General Plan Regional Category Estate Development Area (EDA), Land Use Designation (21) Specific Plan Area. Zoning for the site is S88 (Specific Planning Area) Use Regulations.
