Document Description
A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to construct and operate a utility-scale, 150-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy facility and a 150-MW battery energy storage system (BESS) on approximately 596 acres within an 825-acre parcel, and construction of a 1.1-mile-long generation tie (gen-tie) line located on a separate 456-acre developed parcel to connect the project to the Alpha Substation. The request also includes a Policy Plan Amendment to change the land use designation from Rural Living (RL) to Resource Land Management (RLM) on the 825-acre parcel, and a Zoning Amendment to change the zoning designation from Rural Living (RL) to Resource Conservation (RC) on the 456-acre parcel (APN: 0490-121-49). The project is located at 41650 Lockhart Ranch Road in the unincorporated community of Hinkley.
