Document Description
This is an amendment to the “Trestle Walkway Headcut Stabilization” (SCH#2023100477) project at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park. This amendment introduces alterations to the previous project, specifically the construction of an approximately 65-foot-long cutoff wall, laying back the side banks of the channels, adding rock slope protection, and creating rock step pools to drop the profile from the head cut to the channel. Work will:
•Excavate an approximately 65-ft long x 9-ft deep x 5-ft wide trench and a cut off wall composed of rock, cobble, and fines will be constructed upstream of the channel headcuts close to the trestles;
•Construct an approximately 25-ft long x 5-ft wide x 5-ft tall grade control wall across both headcuts, extending 5-ft into the banks on each side with footers excavated to 2-ft beneath scour; and
•Use locally sources materials to construct eight (8) brush boxes, staked to a minimum depth of 12-in., throughout the channel between rock step pools to slow the introduction of water.
