Document Description
The Project involves the extension of existing sewer mains to service existing residences in the Sugar Bowl Property Owners residential subdivision at the base of the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort in Placer County. The project consists of excavating trenches and installing sewer collection lines. Trenches will range from approximately 4 feet to 15 feet in depth and will be installed primarily within the existing roadway sections to minimize tree removals and impacts outside of the roadway section. A segment of the new sewer collection line will cross under the South Yuba River. The crossing under the river will be approximately 138 linear feet and will be achieved by jack and bore/horizontal drilling to avoid impacts to the bed and bank of the South Yuba River. Sending and receiving pits will be constructed on either side of the river crossing to allow for drilling work. The pipe crossing under the bed and bank of the river will be installed within a 0.5-inch thick steel casing and will range from 10 to 15 feet deep to match existing manhole connection depths. No native tree removal is anticipated as a result of the jack and bore activities. A bore rig will be used to complete the jack and bore utility installation. Construction staging areas will be limited to previously disturbed or developed areas.
