Document Description
The project is the replacement of existing components that were installed as part of the Winterhawk development in 1994, as they are now reaching the end of their useful and reliable lifespan. Components to be replaced include: the existing wet well pumps, wet well lid to include a safety grate, control panel, PG&E panel all on new reinforced concrete equipment pads. The project includes installation of a new pump termination cabinet to comply with current National Fire Protection Association {NFPA) code requirements. The project also includes installation of a conduit for future connection for telecommunication to allow upgraded technological capabilities, and approximately 320 square feet of new asphalt concrete pavement. All project work will be performed in previously disturbed areas, within the existing fenced utility area (1,040 sq ft).

Pursuant to Sections 15301(b),(d), Existing Facilities, and 15302(c) of the CEQA Guidelines, Replacement or Reconstruction, this project is exempt from further CEQA review. Section 15301(b) specifically refers to minor alteration of existing facilities or mechanical equipment which does not result in an expansion of the existing use, and specifically applies to the operation of existing publicly owned facilities. Section 15301{d) specifically refers to restoration/rehabilitation of deteriorated facilities or mechanical equipment to meet current public health and safety standards. Section 15302(c) specifically refers to projects that consist of replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity and where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced. The project will not result in an expansion of the facility.
