Document Description
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) proposes the following improvements. On Page Street, between Stanyan Street and Octavia Boulevard, vehicle volumes and speeds would be restricted to allow the roadways to be safely used for foot and bicycle traffic. Additionally, on Page Street between Laguna Street and Octavia Boulevard, a contra-flow eastbound Class IV protected bikeway would be made permanent, and on Page Street between Octavia Boulevard and Webster Street, a westbound Class II bike lane would be made permanent. The proposed project would also implement turn restrictions on Haight Street, a parallel corridor, to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety and reduce the potential for transit delay. Southbound traffic on Octavia Boulevard’s frontage road would be prohibited from transitioning into the central (freeway-bound) lane at Haight and Page streets to reinforce the restrictions on eastbound Page Street and Haight Street described above.
