Document Description
The Project proposes demolition of Woodworth Elementary School, adjustment of the Morningside High School campus boundaries (reduced by 17 acres), construction of new recreational facilities (relocated track and football/soccer field, tennis courts, basketball courts, shotput and discus areas, a softball field, a baseball field, stadium lighting, electronic scoreboards, public announcement (PA) systems, ticketing and concessions building, a visitor team storage and restroom building, and a home team storage and restroom building), and modernization of existing buildings (canopies and walkways, doors, windows, and interior improvements to existing Building U (Auditorium), Building H (Shop Class), and Building L (Classroom)). Circulation, landscaping, and utility improvements are also proposed throughout. The Proposed Project would not create additional capacity that would increase the number of students or staff present at Morningside High School. Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2023 for approximately 24 months.
