Document Description
Notice of Exemption pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, Class 1 (Existing Facilities) and 15306, Class 6 (Information Collection). The Bouquet Inlet/Outlet Pipeline is a critical part of the Los Angeles water system that runs east-west from Bouquet Reservoir to the Power Plant 1 penstock. The project consist of the removal of soil and debris at the West Portal of Bouquet Reservoir, at the upstream end of the pipeline. Approximately 50 cubic yards of soil will be removed where the pipeline runs parallel and immediately adjacent to a streambed feature. The removal of soil is necessary to investigate a possible leak from the pipeline and remove muddy soil that is causing corrosion.

The Bouquet Reservoir and appurtenant structures were constructed as part of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. Activities are to investigate a potential leak at the West Portal of Bouquet Reservoir and remove soil potentially causing erosion of the pipeline. Therefore, no further review under CEQA is required.
