Document Description
The project is located along I-580 in the City of Oakland and includes upgrading existing non-standard bridge barrier railings to current standards at the Fruitvale Ave. Undercrossing (UC) at postmile (PM) R41.43, Broadway-Richmond Blvd. UC at PM 44.51, and Webster St. UC at PM 44.81. The project also includes seismic retrofits of both the Broadway-Richmond Blvd. UC and the Fruitvale Ave. UC as well as demolition of two pedestrian overcrossings (POCs), the Santa Clara Ave POC at PM 43.76 and the Van Buren Ave POC at PM 43.75. The project also includes surface street improvements to nearby Grand Avenue, MacArthur Boulevard, and Santa Clara Avenue. The project would bring these assets into conformity with current seismic design, vertical clearance, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
