Document Description
The Project is located at an unnamed tributary to Markley Canyon Creek within Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in Contra Costa County. The unnamed tributary is an ephemeral stream with winter flows, sandy bed, and mostly rock banks. Additionally, the existing bank consists of partially embedded wood railroad ties, which have been dislodged and are releasing sediment into the ephemeral stream. Under the proposed project, the Permittee will remove the wood retainer and adjacent dirt. The area will be stabilized with placement of quarter ton boulders (3.5 feet wide, 8 feet long, 3.5 feet deep).
