Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of the permitting of a new custom furniture business in an existing commercial building. The project involves negligible or no expansion of the existing use.
Per Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines, the project does not meet any of the circumstances requiring an exception to a categorical exemption in that: the project is not listed on any list of hazardous waste site compiled pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code, is not located within the vicinity or viewshed of a scenic resource, and would not result in an impact to a biological resource, cultural resource, or another environmental resource. For all of these reasons, there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant impact on the environment and is therefore exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
