Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is Categorically Exempt from environmental proceedings pursuant to Section 15301, Existing Facilities, of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, which exempts additions to structures that are that will not result in an increase of 50 percent of the floor area of the structure before the addition, or 2,500 square feet, whichever is less. The project is exempt because the replacement of windows with a sliding door and the installation of a balcony on four townhomes will increase the floor area by 240 square feet, which is two and a half percent of the floor area before the addition.
