Document Description
The project will construct replacement inclinometers and leveling monuments for an existing, treated wastewater pipeline that historically has experienced settlement in the soft soils through which it runs. The 3.5 mile, 72-inch reinforced concrete outfall pipeline, constructed in 1958, conveys treated wastewater from Central San’s wastewater treatment plant to Suisun Bay. The outfall runs primarily underground for nearly 19,000 feet and a submarine section of about 1,700 feet in length. Above the shoreline portion of the outfall, an unvegetated, tidal mudflat extends approximately 1,000 feet from the shore and into the Suisun Bay.
