The project applicant filed an application with the Riverside County Planning Department seeking a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a new cannabis cultivation operation that would include 38,000 square feet (sf) of mixed light cannabis cultivation (22,000 sf of flowering canopy and 16,000 sf of vegetative canopy) in 17 greenhouses and a 4,800-sf steel building for processing and packaging. The proposed project would involve the conversion of 4.3 acres of avocado trees to become the proposed mixed light cannabis cultivation operation. Two (2) of the proposed greenhouses would be 96 feet long and 32 feet wide (3,072 sf per greenhouse), and 15 greenhouses would be 120 feet long and 32 feet wide (3,840 sf per greenhouse), for a combined total of 63,744 sf of greenhouse space. Each greenhouse would be 14.7 feet tall. The steel building would be a 4,800-sf “gable” type structure with 14-foot side walls and 19-foot peak height at the center, and include designated areas for office, drying, trimming, packaging, storage, shipping and receiving. The steel building would also include restrooms, conference room, lobby/reception and security room.
