Document Description
Big Sur Land Trust proposes to construct a new park and recreation facility on ~73 acres of land. Approximately 67 acres will be developed into a passive public park using grant funding from California Natural Resources Agency’s Urban Greening Program. Passive public park elements will include the following: restoration of 60 acres of habitat including wetlands, upland grasslands, and riparian tree grove uplands; interpretive signage; and construction of approximately 240 linear feet of footbridges along walking trails. The remaining acreage will be developed into a traditional neighborhood park facility funded through other sources, which will include a variety of amenities such as children's playgrounds, a dog park, a skate spot, an amphitheater, sport courts and multiple large and small BBQ areas. It will also include two parking lots with 61 parking spaces, as well as bus drop-off and bicycle parking and bathroom facilities.
