The California Department of Transportation is proposing to install a solar powered pedestrian activated (push button) flashing beacon system in the marked crosswalk on Main Street (SR 3) and Bruce Street in the City of Yreka. This is a standalone unit; no electrical trenching or connections are required.

Caltrans determined that the project is categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) Class 3—Construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The project would not have a significant effect on the environment.
