Document Description
The project will replace and upgrade two chillers and four pumps serving the Patton State Hospital facility. Work includes the disconnection and removal of two 200-ton crew chillers and four pumps, the installation of two new 200-ton chillers, two new chilled water pumps, and two new condenser water pumps. New equipment will connect to existing chiller and condensate piping systems. Temporary chillers and associated pumps will be provided for the duration of the chiller replacement.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 allows for the rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged facilities to meet current standards of public health and safety, and for the repair and maintenance of existing public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment where it involves no or negligible expansion of use. Patton SH is of historic age, however, in 2018 DSH received concurrence from the State Historic Preservation Officer that none of the buildings or structures at the facility are eligible for listing as an historic resource. No exceptions to the exemption apply.
