- Conduct preliminary soil testing along the Lester Beach Service Road at D. L. Bliss State Park to determine the soil type and sub-surface terrain for a future waterline replacement project to upgrade the Park’s aging infrastructure. Work will: • Bore twenty-seven (27) 6” diameter by 10’ deep holes (sans water/drilling mud) using a truck-mounted auger, either within the roadway or on the shoulder of Lester Beach Road; • Collect data from each bore hole to determine the soil types and sub-surface terrain; • Backfill with native soil (no fill will be imported) and pack down each hole with the spoils that were removed from each bore hole (make sure backfilled hole is to grade with surrounding undisturbed soil); • Bore holes in the roadway asphalt or concrete will be recapped and compacted with like material;
