The California Department of Transportation proposes to conduct bridge maintenance work at 3 locations on State Route 198 in Kings County between postmiles R10.5 and R14.77. Work around the columns includes removing up to three inches of surface concrete, drilling into the columns, removing and replacing rebar, excavating existing soils, and backfilling around the columns. All work would occur on the existing bridge structures and approaches. No new right of way would be required.
