Document Description
The project will consist of removing existing asphalt concrete pavement and construct new concrete sidewalk with landscape. The project will also grind and overlay most of the existing asphalt on 5th Street, between Front Street and the Murrieta Creek and allow for on-street parking. All work will be consistent with the Old Town Specific Plan and will be within the exiting public right-of-way.

The Project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act under Section 15301 of the CEQA
Guidelines, Existing Facilities. The project is part of an existing city-wide sidewalk program to an existing
road/public right-of-way with negligible expansion of use beyond what currently exists. The project is located
within the Old Town Specific Plan and will improve public safety for both pedestrians and drivers.
