Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project involves the modernization of existing facilities as well as the removal and replacement of modular classrooms on the site to accommodate the anticipated increase in student population as a result of the development of the Pacific Highlands Ranch. As the proposed project would modernize existing facilities, Class 1 categorically exempts interior and exterior alterations and additions to existing structures, Class 2 categorically exempts replacement or reconstruction of facilities. Class 14 categorically exempts minor additions to schools which would not increase the student capacity by more than 25 percent or ten classrooms, whichever is less. The proposed project was reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2 and no exceptions were found to apply.
