Document Description
The proposed Project is construction of a masonry block soundwall to reduce traffic noise exposure at Harrison Elementary School. The soundwall is proposed in front of the existing chain-link fence along the School's north property line and will begin at the School's west property line and end at the School's east property line. The soundwall will be built along the north edge of Abutment 1 of the existing pedestrian bridge that crosses Interstate 10. The soundwall will be built underneath the pedestrian bridge soffit between the east edge of Abutment 1 and the School's east property line. The soundwall is approximately 550 feet in length and 16 feet in height above local ground and will have four gaps to accommodate the two existing vehicle gates and two pedestrian access gates (one of which is adjacent to the eastern-most vehicle gate).
