The CUSD Houghton-Kearney School is classified as a non-transient non-community public water system with a population of approximately 390 persons (students and School personnel) served through four (4) service connections. The Water System operates under Domestic Water Supply Permit No. 03-23-12P-008 issued by the State Water Board on April 18, 2012. The Water System utilizes one groundwater wall, Well No. 1, as its sole source of domestic water. The well has been cited by the State for non-compliance and needs to be assessed and have a small test well done next 10 the existing we!I to assess water quality at lower levels.
