Proposed Reacquisition of 12,214Acre-feet Per Year of Suspended State Water Project Table A Amount

The proposed project is the reacquisition of 12,214 Acre Feet per Year (AFY) Table A amount of State Water Project (SWP) water (12,214 AFY) by Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA), for delivery by CCWA to the City of Santa Maria, Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District, Improvement District No. 1 (ID No. 1 ), Carpinteria Valley Water District, and Montecito Water District (proposed project Beneficiaries), and ultimately for the Beneficiaries' delivery to their individual customers. Implementation of the proposed project would increase the maximum Table A amount for delivery to Santa Barbara County to 57,700 AFY, but would not change the Table A amounts in the contracts of any of the other 28 State Water Contractors. The proposed project will require amendment of the Water Supply Contract with the Department of Water Resources (DWR) for water service from the SWP to Santa Barbara County and the approval of CCWA, the Santa Barbara County Flood Control and Water Conservation District on behalf of CCWA, and DWR. The study area for the proposed project is the SWP service area, which includes the water delivery facilities and service areas of all 29 State Water Contractors. Within the SWP service area is CCWA's service area, which is co-extensive with the boundaries of CCWA Members. The CCWA service area represents approximately 91 percent of the assessed valuation of all lands subject to taxation in Santa Barbara County.
