The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide $299,138 for implementation of the Feather River College Watershed Improvement Project. The project involves forest fuels reduction on 94 acres of the Feather River College Campus. Project activities would include hand thinning, chipping, piling, and pile burning. Approx. 5,000ft of fuelbreak trails will be strategically located to create manageable underburn units and complement the existing campus trail system. The purpose of the project is to reduce wildfire risks, protect the nearby communities of Quincy and East Quincy, and promote and protect nearby watershed health.
