The project is a comprehensive update of the Clairemont Mesa Community Plan, which was originally adopted in 1989 and has undergone over 7 amendments since. Clairemont is in the geographic center of the city, is accessible from Interstate (I-) 5, 1-805, and State Route (SR-) 52, and will be served by the Mid-Coast Blue Line Trolley, which will connect Clairemont to Downtown San Diego, the University community, and the citywide transit network. Clairemont is an urbanized residential community with several shopping centers, parks and recreational facilities, and educational opportunities.
