- Document Description
- The proposed project involves demolition of the on-site, city-owned Fire Station No. 9. The station appears to be eligible for designation as a Long Beach Historic Landmark but has been closed due to the recurrence of toxic mold in the building, which cannot be remediated. Therefore, the station is uninhabitable by the Long Beach Fire Department and presents a health risk to the general public. The project also involves installation of a temporary/modular structure that would operate on-site for approximately five years while a larger permanent replacement structure is built off-site (not a part of this project).
