The City proposes to construct and operate a 21-acre community soccer park on a currently vacant 45-acre parcel of City-owned land adjacent to the Santa Ana River. The park would provide fields for local soccer practice and games as well as hosting regional tournaments. The park includes 6 synthetic turf fields, 2 natural turf fields , 300 parking stalls (with handicapped stalls), two restroom and concession facilities (max. 24-foot height), breezeways with seating, several child play areas, multipurpose trails of decomposed granite, field and parking lot lighting, security fencing, retaining walls, and shaded spectator seating. The remaining 24 acres would be retained as natural open space along the Santa Ana River.
