Document Description
The objective of the project is to provide adequate flood conveyance capacity and effectiveness during times of peak flood flow to protect residences and businesses in the communities south and southwest of the Bayfront Canal, reducing damage to property and potential risks to public health and safety. This Project is proposed as the first step to address existing chronic and widespread flooding of streets, residences, and businesses in the multi-jurisdictional watershed of Bayfront Canal. The Project involves the construction of two parallel underground box culverts and associated drainage connections to route a portion of peak flood flows from Bayfront Canal into managed ponds that are part of the Ravenswood Pond Complex portion of the South Bay Salt Pond (SBSP) Restoration Project.
