Document Description
Approval of Minor Alteration No. WA2024030, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To repair bank erosion from the 2017 storms on the waterside slope of Yolo Bypass at Unit 1 levee mile 3.20, in Solano County. Repair activities as shown in the plans include clearing and grubbing, installation of a cofferdam, and excavation of the damaged areas to grade. An 8-foot-wide key will be excavated below the landside toe. After excavation, fill will be placed and compacted to construct the repaired slope. The fill will meet Title 23 requirements. Additional erosion control measures will be placed including a silt fence, turbidity curtain, hydroseeding, willow pole cuttings, and fiber rolls. The silt fence will be installed along the limits of work during construction to minimize sediment transport. A turbidity curtain will be used for all in-water work to limit downstream transport of sediment. The hydroseeding, willow pole cuttings, and fiber rolls will be installed upon completing the repair to minimize erosion after construction.
