Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to restore the inefficient and damaged microwave vehicle detection system (MVDs) at various locations in the Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties along the State Routes (SR) 5, 59, 99, and 152. These MVDs are used to provide enhanced speed monitoring, traffic counting, and presence detection to meet the demands of transportation. The purpose is to enhance the freeway and highway operations with reliable TMS. This project is needed to bring outdated MVD's to current standards and to increase accuracy and efficiency of transportation management.
