Document Description
Delta Division Staff staff will perform maintenance along the SBA pipeline easement. A skid steer with mower head attachment, an industrial mower, and weed whackers will be used to mow the complete easement from MM 33.15 to 35.27. Total mowed area will be approximately 8.8 acres along 2.5 miles of pipeline alignment. DFD staff will utilize a water truck or spray tank as fire control. For areas that are not accessible by mower, weed whacker and hand tools will be used to clear vegetation at the vault locations. DWR personnel need access to the South Bay Pipeline at any given time to perform maintenance, inspections and respond to emergencies

See NOE for full details. The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves data collection without major disturbance to an environmental resource. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any significant environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 6 will be used for CEQA compliance.
