Document Description
The DTSC considering approval of the Revised Interim Measures Implementation Plan addressing soil and groundwater contamination at the Polynt Composites USA, Inc. facility. The Revised IMIP will expand the existing soil vapor extraction system with the addition of air sparging to improve the rate of soil and groundwater contaminant removal. A new thermal oxidizer unit will be installed to treat extracted vapor to the current air quality standards prior to discharge to atmosphere. The existing groundwater extraction and treatment system will be enhanced to include a combination of injection and extraction wells to increase groundwater flow and contaminant removal. Extracted groundwater will be treated in a new above-ground system using activated carbon, hydrogen peroxide, and ultra-violet light.
