Document Description
As a component of the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) Terminal Island Rail Yard Enhancement Project, the “Pier 400 Corridor Storage Tracks Expansion Project” relocates approximately 1,900 feet lead rail track currently located on Port of Long Beach property within the Long Beach Harbor District onto Port of Los Angeles property. To facilitate relocation of the rail track, the existing crossing at Nimitz Road will be moved approximately 80 feet west to a new crossing on Reeves Avenue, requiring regrading at Nimitz Road. A dedicated camera and vehicle detection system will be installed at the new Reeves Avenue crossing and rail tracks and concrete panels will be removed at Nimitz Road. Upon completion of the Project, approximately 325 linear feet of rail track will remain on Port of Long Beach property.
