Document Description
The project involves the construction of a 230 kilovolt (kV)/70 kV substation (Estrella Substation), a 230 kV transmission line interconnection, a new 70 kV double-circuit powerline, and reconductoring of the existing San Miguel-Paso Robles 70 kV power line. The Environmentally Superior Alternative was selected, which includes the Estrella Substation, Alternative PLR-1A (Estrella Route to Estrella Substation), and Alternatives BS-2 (Battery Storage to Address Distribution Objective) and BS-3 (Behind-the-Meter Solar and Battery Storage). Alternatives BS-2 and BS-3 shall be implemented via the CPUC's Distribution Investment Deferral Framework process, as outline in the decision.
