Document Description
The project is limited the removal of an existing railroad trestle and replacement with a new pedestrian trail bridge in an improved section of Willow Slough. Construction equipment will access the dry channel to demolish and remove the center pier of the existing two-span timber railroad trestle, after which the superstructure will be removed. The new bridge will be a single span of 55 feet with a 12-foot-wide concrete deck and steel railings. The concrete abutments for the new bridge will be constructed behind the existing abutments, which will remain as historic remnants of the original bridge. The new bridge abutments will be supported on driven steel H-piles located outside of the ordinary high-water mark of Willow Slough.
