CAL FIRE will award a grant from the California Climate Investments Fire Prevention Program for the Giant Sequoia Forest Resilience Project, which entails prescribed burning and managed wildfire on the Calaveras Big Trees State Park to reduce fuels within 14 management units. These units represent high priority areas with the greatest need of attention in terms of excess fuel load level,proximity to critical tree species and stands, potential threat to spread catastrophic fire and geographic location.
