Document Description
The Asilomar Landslide is an active landslide located on the south facing slope below the Asilomar Blvd ROW, which has resulted in settlement and cracking within the southern portion of the roadway. Using the Cement-Deep Soil Mixing (CDSM) construction method, drilling within the ROW would occur using paddles to mix existing subsurface material with cement, forming columns up to a depth of 120 ft, which would strengthen the subsurface material and stabilize the slide area of the roadway. Upon project operation, the project site would appear similar to existing conditions, as all structures would be below the ground surface. Additionally, the natural look of the existing slope south of the ROW would be maintained.
