Document Description
The UC Davis Hot Water Phase 2 Conversion Project will replace the old and inefficient campus steam distribution system with a new energy-efficient hot water system for heating. The Project has two components: (1) installing underground hot water pipelines; and (2) mechanical upgrades within buildings to support the conversion to hot water heating. The Project would install approximately 5 miles of underground hot water pipes along 2.5 miles of trench to provide hot water heating system for 36 buildings with an approximate total square footage of 1.6 million square feet of building space. The conversion requires equipment modifications within existing building mechanical rooms. The Project would expand and connect to the hot water distribution lines installed in the previously approved and completed Hot Water Quad Loop and Hutchison Conversion Project.
