Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-RIV-40173-R6), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the Project Applicant, City of Menifee. The Project will consist of impacts from the demolition and replacement of the existing Bradley Road Bridge over Salt Creek to construct a 335 foot-long by 64-foot-wide all-weather bridge. The bridge will consist of a three-span, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete box girders supported by two intermediate piers consisting of three columns each (six columns total), and two open-ended abutments. Other project components include relocating an existing Southern California Gas Company natural gas line within the bridge impact area; removing two existing barbed wire fences tools within the southern portion of Salt Creek to the east and west of Bradley Road; reconstructing the existing paved Class I bike path, roadway approaches, and crossing of Bradley Road; and installing two permanent, aggregate-based access ramps on the south side of Salt Creek for future maintenance purposes. The Project will temporarily impact 0.80 acres and permanently impact 0.21 acres of streambed, bank, and channel. Temporary impacts will be restored onsite. To compensate for the remaining permanent impacts of 0.21-acres of stream bed, bank, and channel, through the either 1) through the acquisition, and perpetual conservation and management of a “Mitigation Site”, or several mitigation sites, containing no less than 0.63 acres of streambed and stream-associated habitat within Riverside County or 2) acquisition of no less than 0.63 acres of Reestablishment/rehabilitation credits through Riverpark Mitigation Bank, or other CDFW- approved mitigation bank within Western Riverside County.
