The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0288-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Robert Lopena. The project consists of 11 encroachment(s): Three encroachments are for water diversion from unnamed tributaries to Saunders Creek. Water is diverted for domestic use and cattle irrigation. Work for these water diversions will include facility retrofit, use, and maintenance of water diversion infrastructure. One encroachment is to decommission inoperative water diversion facilities. Work will include removal of all infrastructure, riparian revegetation, and erosion control. Three encroachments include installation of rocked ford stream crossings. Work will include excavation and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion. Two encroachments are to upgrade undersized and/or failing culverts. Work will include, removal of existing culverts, replacement with properly sized culverts, backfilling and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion. One encroachment includes decommissioning of a hydrologically connected road segment. Work will include excavation and recontouring of the road. One encroachment is to decommission and restore a hydrologically connected graded flat. Work will include disposal of waste, excavation, backfilling and compaction of fill, rock armoring to minimize erosion, revegetation, and erosion control.
