Document Description
The project is limited to 6 encroachments (Table 1). Two of the proposed encroachments are to upgrade failing and undersized culverts, one is to decommission a stream crossing, 1 for an existing POD, another for a new POD, and one channel alteration restoration. Work for the culverts will include excavation, removal of the failing culverts, replacement with new properly sized culverts, backfilling and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion, and a third stream crossing will be decommissioned by removing the road prism fill where the Class Ill channel once was and recontouring it so the same geometry of the channel above continues across the road. Work on the channel alteration will include pulling fill bank to be at least 50' from Class Ill channel, removing any debris within the fill material, and contouring the fill bank to a slope no greater than 65%. The existing POD will be abandoned by removing the spring box and related materials. The new POD will draft water with a screened intake.
