Present Land Use
The project applies across all land use designations
Document Description
The project is limited to 10 encroachments. Two encroachments are for water diversion from unnamed tributaries to Freshwater Creek. Water is diverted for domestic use and irrigation. Work for the water diversion will include use and maintenance of the water diversion infrastructure. The 8 other proposed encroachments are to maintain features or upgrade failing and undersized culverts and pod spillways. Work for these encroachments will include excavation, removal of the failing culvert, replacement with new properly sized culverts, and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion. The first project is a water point of diversion (POD-1) from a hillside spring used for domestic uses only. The diversion infrastructure is an appreciable 12"x12"x12" wooden spring box that feeds to two in-line water holding tanks before discharging into a pond adjacent with an overflow adjacent to Freshwater Creek. The second project is a water diversion from a pond with a shallow water table at the head of a class III water course. The third project is a spillway for an existing pond that receives water from rainfall and a shallow water table. The forth project is a spillway for an existing pond at the head of a culvert and secondary rocked spillway. The fifth project is a spillway for an existing pond that receives water from the spring source of POD-1. The sixth project entails armoring of an existing 10" culvert outflow of an existing in-stream pond with 6" to 12" RSP for velocity dissipation. The seventh encroachment will replace an existing 8-inch diameter culvert on a class III watercourse with a minimum 24" culvert. The eighth project will replace 12" culvert on a class II watercourse minimum 24" culvert. The ninth project will replace 12" culvert on a class II watercourse with a minimum 18" culvert. The tenth project will install a rocked critical dip on a road crossing at the outfall of a historic class I instream pond.
